The Middle Corridor in the Spotlight

Mr. Makhkamov graduated from Tashkent Automobile and Road Institute of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2003. In 1998-2004, he worked at the Mayor`s office of Tashkent city. From 2004 to 2014, Mr. Makhkamov held various roles at “Suvsoz”, starting from the position of the Deputy Head of the Department to the position of the Head of the company.

In 2014, he became General Director of the Tashkent Territorial Communal Association. In the following years, he was Deputy General Director and General Director of the government entity - “Uzkommunkhizmat”. He then continued his career as Head of the Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2019, being responsible for integrated development of regions, utilities, ecology, environmental protection, transport, capital construction and the construction industry.

Mr. Makhkamov served as first Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 2019 to 2020. He has been Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan and a Chairman of “Uzbekistan airways” since February 2021.

Mr. Makhkamov is fluent in Russian and German languages.
