Meaningful Connectivity Enabler for Global Growth

Since July 2021, Charles J. Cormier is the Regional Director for Infrastructure for Europe and Central Asia at the World Bank, where he brings over 33 years of experience in infrastructure and sustainable development, including 22 years at the World Bank.  In this role, Mr. Cormier  manages a portfolio of more than $11 billion to support energy security, sustainable transport and logistics, access to digital services, resilient infrastructure and decarbonization. 

Mr. Cormier, a Canadian national, has held several positions at the Bank, including Practice Manager of Energy in West Africa and the Middle East and North Africa, and lead specialist for sustainable development stationed in India.   

Mr. Cormier holds a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Toronto, Canada.
