In Georgia, Cerberus Frontier manages the Caucasus Clean Energy Fund I (the “Fund” or “CCEF”), which it closed in November 2016. Anchor investors include the Global Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Fund (“GEEREF”) and Oesterreichische Entwicklungsbank AG, the Development Bank of Austria (“OeEB”). Other investors include Georgia’s sovereign wealth fund (“Partnership Fund”), the Dutch Development Bank (“FMO”) and a private investment firm (“Anthos”).

CCEF is focused on making equity investments into small and medium-sized (10-20MW) hydropower plants exclusively in Georgia. The Fund believes that the development of many small and medium-sized hydropower plants has been hindered by a lack of equity financing available in the market. The Fund seeks to solve this problem through CCEF by making equity available to developers and thereby helping to unlock the potential of Georgia’s small and medium-sized hydropower plants.
