07 December 2017 Dimitri Kumsishvili - The so-called middle corridor is especially important for Georgia

Dimitri Kumsishvili, First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, delivered a speech at the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum. He participated in the panel Transport Infrastructure and spoke about the ongoing and planned projects of Georgia.

According to the Ministry of Economy, Dimitri Kumsishvili noted that the so-called middle corridor is especially important for Georgia, which will be much more fascinating and valuable for all participants involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

"When Georgia got involved in this initiative, we shared the major principle - in general, the principle of the Belt and Road Initiative. Namely, first of all, it is the territorial integrity of Georgia. Of course, this is the philosophy, the idea of our country. The Belt and Road countries are not in conflict with each other, they are not competitors, they complement each other. We need to accumulate energy in order to grow and develop. This is the main principle of the Silk Road philosophy," Dimitri Kumsishvili said.
