Li Hui

Government Special Envoy in Eurasia Region of the People's Republic of China

In 2019 Mr. Li Hui was appointed as a Government Special Envoy in Euroasia Region of the People’s Republic of China.

In the period of 1975-1981 he worked at the Department of the USSR and Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. He was an attaché, third secretary and second secretary of the Chinese Embassy in the USSR, (1981 -1985). From 1985 to 1990 he was a second secretary, Deputy Head of the Department of the USSR and Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC.

In the period of 1990-1991 he was a First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in the USSR. From 1991 to 1992 he was a First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation. In 1992-1995 he served as a First Secretary and Adviser of the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan.  

From 1995 to 1997 he was an Advisor, Deputy Head of the Department of Europe and Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. In 1997-1999 he served as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Kazakhstan. In 1999-2003 he was a Head of the Department of Europe and Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC. From 2003 to 2008 he was an assistant to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PRC.

In 2008-2009 Mr. Liu Hui served as a deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PRC.

From August 2009 to August 2019 he served as an   Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation.
