Javid Gurbanov
Mr. Javid Gurbanov was born on September 19, 1958 in Kalbajar region, Azerbaijan.
He is Member of Parliament of Azerbaijan, statesman and engineer.
He has been the chairman of "Azerbaijan Railways" since February 09, 2015 with Presidential decree.
Between 1982 - 2015 he held high ranking positions at “Azerneqliyyattikinti” Azerbaijan Transportation Construction Trust, “Elektromexaniklesdirme” Electro Mechanization Trust, the State Specialized Production Automobile Transport Union under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Azerbaijan, “Azeravtoyol” AzerAutoRoad State Company, “Avtoerzaqneqliyyat” AutoFoodTransport Union, Supply Department of Azerbaijan State Railways Baku Branch, ASR “Azerdemiryolservis” Azerbaijan State Railway Service Production Union, “Yolneqliyyatservis” Road Transport Services under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, “Azeryolservis” AzerAutoRoad Open Joint-Stock Company under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Mr. Gurbanov has been the MP of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan of 3rd, 4th and 5th convocations since November 6, 2005.
He was a member of the Azerbaijan - Czech Republic, Azerbaijan - Egypt and Azerbaijan - Slovakia Inter-parliamentary groups between 2005 to 2010.
Javid Gurbanov has been the co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Austria inter-parliamentary working group since 7 November 2010, during his 2nd and 3rd term in the Parliament.
Mr. Gurbanov has received the following honors and awards: “The Honorary Badge of rail worker” - 1998, “The Medal of Friendship” of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 2016, “Honored Engineer” honorary title of the Republic of Azerbaijan - 2017, “Glory medal” of the Republic of Azerbaijan - 2018, Honorary medal of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan - 2018, Jubilee medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan highways - 2018, “Gold medal” of the International Academy of Engineering - 2019 and the “Glory medal” of Georgia.
Mr. Gurbanov also holds a Ph.D. in Engineering. He is a member of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party. Mr. Gurbanov is married, with two children.
