First Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia, Director General of Georgia Revenue Service (GRS)

Mr. Giorgi Tabuashvili serves as the deputy Minister of Finance since 2012,. From 2014 he heads the Georgia Revenue Service (GRS) – Tax and Customs Administration and SPS Border control Agency under the Ministry of Finance. GRS is the central agency responsible for state revenue collection, ensuring safe and legitimate trade on Georgian border; it serves as first line control for illegal trade and sanitary phyto-sanitary border control.

Mr. Tabuashvili has extensive working experience in public finance as well as international financial institutions. He also served as chief finance officer in private sector of Pfizer Luxemburg SARL representation in Georgia, Georgia Oil and Gas Corporation, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway project; Mr. Tabuashvili has received outstanding education in the field of economics and law. He got Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Master’s certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. He also studied Macroeconomics and Law at Tbilisi State University.
