George Melashvili
Mr. George Melashvili is an Executive Director of the National Bank of Georgia since 2009.
He is in charge of several important directions of NBG including the payment systems in terms of oversight payment systems and payment instruments, facilitation growth of non-cash payments within the country and operation of the main interbank payment system (RTGS System) of Georgia.
He has also a strong professional background in commercial banking sector starting from 1995. Previously, he worked for the Bank of Georgia (1999-2009) and held several leadership positions. Following his service as the Deputy CFO of Bank of Georgia, he held position of Deputy CEO of Insurance Company ALDAGI BCI.
Mr. George Melashvili is a graduate of Georgian Technical University. He received Master’s degree in Economics (2002).
He is married and speaks Georgian, English and Russian.
