First Vice Prime Minister, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Dimitry Kumsishvili introduced the Georgian investment environment and existing potential to the Belt & Road participants during his speech at the panel of Use Investment Possibilities (Session 1: Investment and Trade Opportunities of Georgia).

According to Dimitry Kumsishvili, foreign investments in Georgia will undergo certain diversifications including transport and communications as well as restaurants and hotels, which became quite a fascinating sector. "We expect foreign direct investments amounting to 7.7% of the GDP by 2017. This will be another opportunity to create a positive trend. What's the impact on it? How can Georgia's economy repair this area with its work? Real export is growing by 20%, which is a very good indicator. In fact, this indicates that our investment environment is becoming more favorable," - the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated.

Dimitry Kumsishvili also stressed upon the employment issues, namely, as he noted, "As of 2017, we have a 5% rise in creation of jobs in private sector which triggered 18% increase in output and turnover on the whole. At the same time, as a result of the works embarked in 2015-2016, we have experienced more positive results in the implementation of the measures against unemployment".
