08 December 2017 Dimitry Kumsishvili: Intermediate corridor is of high importance for Georgia

First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili, introduced the guests to Georgia’s current and planned projects in regards to the development of transportation infrastructure in Georgia at the Transport Infrastructure panel of the Tbilisi Belt & Road Forum.

As Dimitry Kumsishvili noted, the so-called Intermediate Corridor, which will be much more fascinating and valuable for all participants involved in the Belt & Road Initiative, is of high importance for Georgia. "We have shared the core principle of the Belt & Road Initiative ever since Georgia became involved. That is to say, first of all, it should take into account the territorial integrity of Georgia. Of course this is the philosophy, the idea that our country holds. The Belt & Road Initiative countries are not countries that are in conflict with each other, they are not competitors, but they complement each other. We need to accumulate energy, grow and develop, this is the main principle of the Silk Road philosophy" - Dimitry Kumsishvili stated.
