Connecting to Europe – The Development of the extended TEN-T

Elmir Tofig oglu Velizade has been Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies since 2018. He is a graduate of Azerbaijan Oil and Chemistry Institute (now Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University) with Bachelor’s Degreein Automated Control Systems. He worked at Computing Center of Azerbaijan Oil and Chemistry Institute. In the period of 1989 to 1991, he continued pedagogical activities in Computing machines and programming chair. He was engaged in scientific researches on artificial intelligence and expert systems and is the author of some scientific articles and teaching aids. He began working as a first degree specialist at the Executive Office of the President in 1991. In 1998, he was appointed chief of the Center of Information Resources and Technologies of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2005 He worked as head of department of Information Resources and Technologies of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan . In 2007, he was appointed as a Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2014, he served as Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2015 He was awarded Tereggi (Progress) medal by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
