“The Silk Road will not replace the Kars-Akhalkalaki Railway,” – the First Vice Prime Minister, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia stated at the Tbilisi Belt & Road Forum. “The Kars-Akhalkalaki Railway represents one of the branches of the Silk Road. It is the line that will connect Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. The line that will provide overland connection between these. The project will increase the capabilities of our transport corridor by 5 USD million at the first stage and up to 15 million USD during the following stages,” – Dimitry Kumsishvili stated.
