First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili, during his speech at the Tbilisi Belt & Road Forum, highlighted the sectors of Georgian economy and mechanisms of the business support that are specially interesting for the investors.

Dimitri Kumsishvili encouraged investors to actively participate in open tenders. “You can see these tenders on the Ministry of Economy website. We have announced expression on interest on provision of the logistic centers near Tbilisi and Kutaisi,” – the first Vice Prime Minister stated and added that there is a possibility to invest $ 170 million in total. The government intends to handle up to 80 ha plot of land near Tbilisi and approximately 70 ha plot of land near Kutaisi to the investor to build logistical centers there. 

Dimitri Kumsishvili also spoke about the tools that the Government of Georgia has developed for the support of the private sector and development of business. The Economy Minister named grant-issuing mechanism of the Partnership Fund among one of those tools.  

“We have created many tools since 2016. I will especially emphasize the state program Produce in Georgia. This is an excellent tool to promote business development in Georgia,” – Dimitry Kumsishvili noted and stated that the program is very successful. He also mentioned other state programs including Host in Georgia, Film in Georgia, etc.

In addition, the First Vice Prime Minister stated that there is also a Partnership Fund to support investments in Georgia.
