Georgia’s First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili and the Vice Mayor of Xiangyang City of the Hubei Province of the  People’s Republic of China, Zhang Xiaofan discussed the opportunities of eco and hybrid car factory construction in Georgia at the meeting held within the framework of the Tbilisi Belt & Road Forum.

Representatives of the Chinese company Xiangyang JXY Auto Part Co. also attended the meeting.

In the course of the meeting, the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili emphasized that the Free Trade Agreement between Georgia and the People’s Republic of China comes into force on January 1, 2018. The Agreement will create additional opportunities for the intensification of trade-economic relations. He also highlighted successful examples of Chinese corporations operating in Georgia such as the Hualing and the CEFC China Company Limited.

City of Xiangyang is an industrial town where the car construction is developed on a very high level. Cars produced by the Xiangyang JXY Auto Part Co are in rather high demand.

Vice Mayor of the Xiangyang expressed his will to be twinned the city with Georgian city of Batumi.
