NEWS / Thematic panels to be held within Tbilisi Silk Road Forum tomorrow
The Prime Minister will open the event with a welcome speech. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Anil Gupta. Other participants of the event will be: Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Pavel Philipp, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, Vice Prime Minister of Slovenia, Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec, Member of the Cabinet of Ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Tolerance Minister Sheikh Nahyan, Vice President of the Asian Development Bank Wencai Zhang and EBRD Vice President Alain Pilloux.
As for tomorrow’s other panel discussions, panel - Digital Connection will be held at the Biltmore hotel at 16:45, which will be moderated by the famous journalist, editor-in-chief of Reuters, Axel Threlfall. Participants will be: Giorgi Cherkezishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Lawrence Meredith, Director Neighbourhood East in the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, World Bank's chief economist Dr. Stepka Slavova, Telecommunication Development Sector Director Brahima Sanou, Armenia’s Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology Vahan Martirosyan, Hungarian State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Regulation István Lepsényi and executive director of China Telecom Global Limited Deng Xiao Feng.
Panel - Promotion of Trade under the One Belt One Way Initiative (2nd session: Electronic Trade) will be held at 12:55 at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet National Theater and will be moderated by a well-known journalist, BBC World News anchor Aaron Heslehurst. The participants of the panel will be: Director General of Bank of Georgia, Secretary General of the Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail, Director of World Customs Organization, Eastern Europe Director of Visa Digital Solutions, Director General of World Postal Union, Director of the International Political Economy Department of International Economic Policy Institute and representatives of the private sector.
In addition, at 15:30, the Biltmore hotel will host a panel on interregional energy capabilities (oil, gas and electricity), which will be moderated the famous journalist, E. Treanor Media executive director Ethny Treanor. The Deputy Minister of Energy of Georgia, Executive Director of EBRD Eastern Europe and Caucasus Region, BP regional director and General Director of Clean Energy Invest will take part in the panel.
At 16:45, Biltmore hotel will host panel on New Gateway of New Opportunities, which will be moderated by Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman's advisor. The Minister of Finance of Georgia, Director of the Anaklia Development Consortium, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Railway Company, Executive Director of the National Railway Company, Executive Director of Trans-Eurasia Logistics and Executive Director of Rewin Finance will take part in the event.
Another panel - Transport Infrastructure which will be held at the hotel Biltmore at 15:30 and will be moderated by famous political correspondent of Deutsche Welle TV Melinda Crane. First Vice-Premier and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Dimtri Kumsishvili, Director General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport, ADB Vice President, Turkish Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Slovenia’s Minister of Infrastructure and construction, Polish Minister of Infrastructure and Development and Minister of Transport, Communications and High-technology of Azerbaijan will take part in the panel.
